APPLICATION FOR INCOMPLETE (I) GRADE (COVID-19), SEMESTER l, 2020/2021 ACADEMIC SESSION

Dear Students/Candidates,

Kindly be informed that due to the recent recurrence of the COVID-19 epidemic, the University has AGREED to extend the flexibility provided to the students/candidates and the Academy / Faculty / Center in the implementation of the above matter. This flexibility applies to students/candidates at all levels of study program including research candidates except mobility students

(a) Application by Students/Candidate
(i) Students/candidates can apply for Grade I for one (1) or more courses using the google form at
http://bit.ly/GradeIApplication.
(ii) This is an individual application. Lecturers will continue online teaching & learning (e-T&L) activities according to schedule and planning for other students/candidates
(iii) For students/candidates who submit their application early, before or on December 18th, 2020, the application will be made known by the respective Academic Offices tentatively before the examination week begins on January 25th, 2021. Results of applications received between December 19th, 2020 – February 12th, 2021 will be available after the Committee of Examiners convene their meeting.

(b) Application by the Department
The University allows the Department/Academy/Faculty/Centre to grant Grade I to students/candidates as a group in any courses identified and approved by the Academy/Faculty/Centre Management. Lecturers are advised to discuss and reach mutual agreement with their students before submitting their suggestion to give Grade I to the Academy/Faculty/Centre Management for approval. Students/candidates will be notified about the decision before the final examination begins on January 25th, 2021.

(c) Application of Grade I as stated in the Rules & Regulation 2019
Application for Incomplete (I) Grade I as stated in the UNIVERSITI MALAYA REGULATIONS 2019 of the respective levels of study program other than Grade I on Covid 19 related case is still in effect. In all cases, students/candidates must adhere to the manner the Incomplete (I) Grade is managed as stated in the Universiti Malaya Rules 2019 of the respective levels of study programs of which students/candidates are required to sit for the Special Examination or alternative assessment to replace the approved Grade Incomplete (I). Students/candidates need to understand the implications of the approval of this application towards the learning process, especially to the increase in academic load in the next semester.
